Business
Office Hours
Our office is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday.

Service Windows
Caffi uses four-hour windows of time to set up service appointments. This way, we can be flexible and make adjustments if emergencies arise. Our technicians will always give you a call as they’re on their way to you.

12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Cooling
You can expect a well-manufactured central AC to provide between 12 and 15 years of reliable operation with proper care and maintenance. Ductless mini-splits will last for around 20 years.
Most air filters should be changed every 90 days. However, you may need to increase this frequency if you have breathing conditions, allergies, or a high-dust environment.
This can occur when there are problems with the thermostat, compressor, or evaporator coils. In some instances, it can be caused by dirty evaporator coils, refrigerant leaks, or clogs that prevent the circulation of coolant through the system.
This can be caused by kinks in the refrigerant line, malfunctioning fan motors, broken fan blades, clogged filters, or lack of refrigerant.
Heating
Failure to reach the set temperature is often caused by clogged air filters. As dirt and debris build up in the filter, it diminishes airflow and hinders circulation through the vents.
There are advantages to gas furnaces, electric furnaces, hybrid furnaces, heat pumps, and boiler systems. Our technicians can help you find an option that balances your needs for energy efficiency, reliability, and cost-effective operation.
Most gas furnaces, heat pumps, and other heating systems will provide 15 to 20 years of reliable service with proper care and prompt repairs. However, many boilers and electric furnaces can provide between 20 and 30 years of reliable operation.
As with your cooling system, we recommend changing your furnace filter every 90 days. If you have COPD, allergies, pets in the home, or live in a high-dust environment, you should change the filter more frequently.
You should never attempt to perform furnace repairs yourself. There’s a considerable risk of electrocution or fire, so maintenance, repairs, and replacements should always be performed by a licensed and insured professional.
Plumbing
There are many types of high-quality water heaters to choose from. Storage water heaters are the most common, but tankless, hybrid, and solar water heaters are becoming increasingly popular in northern Virginia.

It depends on the age and condition of your water heater and the manufacturer’s recommendations. Generally, every water heater should undergo an annual maintenance inspection and tune-up.

Most residential plumbing systems will last longer than you own your home. Brass pipes can last 40 to 70 years, while copper pipes will last over 50 years. Galvanized steel will last between 20 and 50 years.
If you notice low water pressure, leaks, water discoloration, frequently clogged drains, or other problems, it may be time to replace your aging pipes.
